ABSTRACT

Perhaps the most prominent finding of the book is the continued patterns of inequality

faced by many social groups within the UK and European labour markets. Whichever way the statistics are looked at, the labour market is still characterised by segregation,

inequalities, disadvantage and discrimination, which disproportionately affect ‘minority’

groups (Chapter 2). These employment inequalities are reflective of wider social atti-

tudes, institutions and structures.
