Underground cables Cables installed underground should be buried at a depth to avoid mechanical damage. ere are several Special Locations, identied in the BS 7671:2008, where specic depths are quoted, with or without additional mechanical protection. is additional protection can be provided by installing the cables in ducting, etc., or covering with cable tiles.
