ABSTRACT

The System Integration and Verification Subprocess in its broadest meaning describes all activities performed by developers and testers that pertain to integrating and verifying a product from the smallest unit through the complete system. The Master Test and Evaluation Plan identifies the full scope of the test program, mapping the requirements into particular test categories—for example, system acceptance testing, reliability growth testing, environmental testing, preproduction qualification testing, etc. Each plan identifies the environments needed to integrate and verify the various subsystems into the final product or service, establishes the verification approach that will be followed, and defines the high level procedures that will be performed. Typically, system integration focuses on identifying and removing defects from the product while system verification focuses on demonstrating to the customer that the product is acceptable to them (by satisfying their requirements).
