ABSTRACT

Uterine leiomyomata are benign tumors of the uterus. They are the most common tumors of the female genital tract, encountered in 25% of women.1 Symptoms attributed to myomata include abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, and occasionally reproductive dysfunction. Location of the myoma (subserous, intramural, or submucous) is an important factor in its symptomatology.
