ABSTRACT
For the 2007 calendar year, it is estimated that there will be 218 890 new prostate cases and 27050 prostate cancer deaths in the United States.1 The prostate is the leading site of new cancer diagnoses among US men and the second leading cause of cancer deaths. For an American male, there is a 1 in 6 lifetime probability of developing prostate cancer.
