ABSTRACT

Morris has come to be seen as the ultimate authority on the Palestinian exodus of 1948. And indeed, his work has contributed to demolishing some of the long-held (at least in Israel and in the West) misconceptions surrounding Israel’s birth. His newly published collection of essays, 1948 and After: Israel and the Palestinians, revisits the ground covered in Birth, bringing to light new material he discovered or which became available only after completion of the first book.
