ABSTRACT
The predominant focus of Chapter 1 was to help you to be clear about the nature of aims, objectives and learning outcomes and to understand the relationship between aims, values and justifications. This chapter focuses on one very important aspect of aims and objectives; their relationship to planning lessons both with respect to the material to be covered and the teaching approaches you might employ (see Chapter 6). Aims, objectives and learning outcomes are also key issues in the areas of assessment and evaluation (see Chapter 12).
