ABSTRACT

The Apostles of Infinite Love is a schismatic conservative Catholic monastic order and an apocalyptic Marian movement organized under the authority of a mystical pope, Gregory XVII, whom disciples refer to as “Brother John.” The motherhouse of this new order was established in 1958 on a 500-acre estate located 100 kilometers northeast of Montreal in St.-Jovite, Quebec, where around five hundred monks and nuns reside. A few small communities also are located in Quebec’s rural areas and in Latin America.
