ABSTRACT
The following paragraphs present the compatibility equations for the linear-strain tensor, allowing EL to be integrated to produce a displacement field u(X), which is unique to within a rigid-body motion. It should be evident that a parallel argument produces exactly the same result for the velocity vector v(x) starting from a given deformation-rate tensor D(x).
