The marketing of world music, and the guides to it, usually construct the category around national identity, even though that is clearly tenuous, given the diversity of styles within particular countries. As such, discussions of world music will embrace, among others, Rai music from Algeria, Nigerian juju, Caribbean zouk, and Brazilian bossa nova. Hybrid forms like the Anglo-Indian bhangra, and FrancoAmerican cajun and zydeco are also included under this broad rubric.
