ABSTRACT
Assuming that Hardware Category 1 hardware is genuinely standard hardware in widespread use, specific testing of the hardware is not required. For Category 1 hardware it is sufficient to demonstrate that the hardware has been manufactured in accordance with the requirements of a recognised quality system (e.g. ISO 9000).
