ABSTRACT
Tissue engineering is one of the most intriguing and exciting areas in biotechnology due to its requirements for state-of-the-art techniques from both biologic and engineering disciplines. This field is on the threshold of the development of an array of products and devices comprised of cell components, biologic compounds, and synthetic materials to replace physiologic function of diseased tissues and organs.
