ABSTRACT
Preliminary and primary treatment consists of physical processes to remove screenings, grit, grease and settleable suspended material. This chapter describes the units and mechanisms for emitting (VOCs). The discussion encompasses emissions from bar racks, grit chambers and settling tanks. For the latter, emissions are discussed for both clariÞer surfaces and weirs.
