ABSTRACT
In the introductory chapters on ‘The history of liposuction’ and ‘The status of liposuction today’, an overview was given of the important milestones in the development of the operating technique.
Because of the numerous advantages and high safety, liposuction using the tumescent technique is currently the method of choice. Since the first description by Jeffrey Klein, this method has been continually improved1.
