ABSTRACT
The contrast between the three rival theories indicated in the title of this chapter will be sharper if we recall briefly the key principles of the neoclassical theory. The latter may be the least realistic of the three, but is perhaps the best defined and the most developed. Its criticism also serves to define indirectly the other two theories.
