ABSTRACT
Admiral Hon. Sir Alexander Cochrane, GCB. He was the uncle of Thomas Cochrane (see COCHRANE, THOMAS, LORD DUNDONALD), who outshone him, but although he never commanded a fleet in a major action, his career is not without interest, and is included to help to distinguish one Cochrane from another.
