ABSTRACT
He entered the Navy in 1783, and served continuously at sea till 1797; 1793, Lieutenant; 1794, Commander; 1795, Captain; 1814, Rear-Admiral; 1825, Vice-Admiral; 1837, Admiral.
He was present in HOWE’S flagship, Queen Charlotte, 100, at the battle of the Glorious First of June (1794) as an Officer of the Quarters, responsible for a division of guns.
