ABSTRACT
GroEadmiral. He commanded the German U-boat arm throughout WW2, in all theatres of war, and became C-in-C of the DKM in 1943 on the resignation of RAEDER. Finally, he was nominated by Hitler as his successor, and became the Fiihrer of the German Reich for a fortnight after Hitler’s suicide, April-May 1945.
