ABSTRACT
Rear-Admiral Douglas Parker, CB, DSO, DSC, AFC. As a young Fleet Air Arm fighter pilot, he was described by his C-in-C VIAN as ‘an outstanding leader… whose enthusiasm…and utter disregard of intense anti-aircraft fire in his desire to get to grips with the enemy, were an inspiration to all’. He went on to become a most able peacetime naval officer and ship’s captain.
