ABSTRACT
In 1930 the automatique-restaurant chain Presto also established another branch designed by Bauer at the Place de la Bourse, between the Rue Vivienne and the Rue des Filles St. Thomas. With the Parisian bar-automatique-restaurants Presto Otto Bauer succeeded not only in creating a functionally sound and vibrant establishment in a small space, but beyond which he was also able to give it an impressive shape. The fact that the commercial photographer Andre Vigneau, well-known at the time, photographed the Presto restaurants is an indication of the attention they received, which is also testified by the reception in contemporary architectural criticism. On the ground floor mainly white alloy, matt and polished aluminium, white and black opaline glass and black marble were used. These materials, as well as a green mosaic floor should functionally and visually provide the greatest guarantee for an appetising ambience.
