ABSTRACT
This chapter is concerned with UK oil and gas production; that is, oil and gas are treated as primary industries, engaged in extracting non-renewable natural resources from the earth. However, we begin with some essential background on the worldwide development of oil and gas, and on the economic characteristics of the two fuels.
