ABSTRACT

In 1978, Diamond2 reported on a series of 4000 outpatient procedures over a period of 10 years in patients with infertility. For diagnostic purpose, he used the 8 mm, 90° Wolf endoscope through a 9 mm sleeve. The patient was to self-administer a Fleet enema the night before the culdoscopy appointment. A local anesthetic was applied and a pneumoperitoneum was created using initially air and later CO2. Antibiotics were given routinely postoperatively for 7 days.
