ABSTRACT
Introduction Despite advances in diagnosis and treatment, respiratory tract infection continues to be a major cause of morbidity and mortality. The major routes of pulmonary infection are hematogenous spread, direct inoculation, and contiguous spread. Appropriate and prompt diagnosis is made with imaging and relevant microbiological studies.
