ABSTRACT
Because some parameters were virtually impossible to determine in vivo at the time, Armstrong and Chaffin (1979) did not use their model to analyse jobs quantitatively. However, the model has had a wide influence on ergonomic practice by highlighting the importance of non-neutral wrist postures in the development of carpal tunnel syndrome.
