ABSTRACT
Carpal fractures are usually the result of a fall on the out-stretched hand. Non-scaphoid fractures are rare, as 79% of carpal fractures involve the scaphoid. Of the remainder, 14% involve the triquetrum and 2% the trapezium. Avascular necrosis (AVN) has been reported with the scaphoid, lunate, capitate and pisiform.
