ABSTRACT

Good quality, correct exposure plain radiographs should include the joint above and the joint below an injury. However, this rule is broken with many obvious intra-articular or periarticular fractures, such as the distal radius, elbow, hip, tibial plateau, ankle, etc. This is acceptable, provided there are no other adverse clinical findings.
