ABSTRACT
Pashto has two genders - masculine and feminine - and two numbers - singular and plural. Typical masculine endings are -aj, -a, -u\ nearly all nouns ending in a consonant are masculine. Feminine endings are -a , -a, -o, -aj. Examples: mase. saraj ‘m an \p la r ‘father7; fem. kota ‘room ’, arzo ‘wish’.
