In museums that have used them for years, computers have transformed most working practices. Among the areas computers have helped museums to improve are:
❚ DOCUMENTATION • Greatly improve and extend their documentation, particularly the speed and
efficiency of retrieving information. • Make information about the collections readily available to enquirers and –
through the Internet – to the general public. • Include pictures of each object in its documentation.
