ABSTRACT
Syrian short-story writer living in Egypt. Brother of Shihāta 'Ubayd, he was associated with the literary movement known as the 'Modem School', and with the Sufūr group. Influenced by French literature, he published two collections of short stories in a psychological and realistic vein.
