ABSTRACT

Dear Consultant: I have a coed group that includes four men and four women aged 35 to 55. The group has been ongoing for about 5 years, and several of the members have been in the group for at least 2 years. My group contract includes the agreement that patients put their feelings into words and not actions and that no social contact outside the group will occur. Recently, I noticed that two of the members, Jack and Paula, have been paying a lot of attention to each other and even flirt occasionally in the group. I think they may be having an affair, but I have no proof-only a gut feeling.
