ABSTRACT

The theory for the design of belt coolers was discussed in Chapter 2. Sec. 3.2 contains a general description of belt coolers. Attention is paid to feeding devices, the belt itself, and discharge devices. It is possible to carry out tests on benchscale, and this item is discussed in Sec. 3.3. Three typical applications are dealt with in Sec. 3.4. Pastillation is gaining importance and this topic is reviewed in Sec. 3.5. Miscellaneous aspects of belt coolers (e.g., typical operational data) receive attention in Sec. 3.6.
