ABSTRACT

I. INTRODUCTION The subjective feelings of sickness, in the form of malaise, lassitude, fatigue, numbness, coldness, muscle and joint aches, and reduced appetite, are well known to everyone who has experienced an episode of viral or bacterial infection. Due to their commonality, these symptoms are frequently ignored by physicians. They are considered as an uncomfortable, but rather banal, component of the pathogen-induced debilitation process that affects a sick individual.
