ABSTRACT
The motivation to use dense phase conveying technology arises generally from a desire to convey at low velocity in order to avoid a range of operational problems; in particular, the problems of erosive wear of pipelines and fittings or the attrition of the conveyed material. However, the ability or otherwise of a material to be conveyed in a dense phase flow regime depends on the particle and bulk properties of the material to be conveyed.
