ABSTRACT

Selective grinding behaviors of Henan bauxite were studied and new route was explored to enhance the desilication in bauxite concentration and improve the A/S of bauxite concentrate. Selecting grinding experiments were carried out with a bauxite feed of A/S 5.88 by using ball mill. The process parameters of selective grinding have been determined. The results show, for the Henan Bauxite, ball mill has good selective grinding performances. Al2O3 is enriched into the coarse size fraction in the grinding products. Thus, a certain classification process can be applied to recover the high A/S coarse fraction directly. The comminution mechanisms of ball mill was discussed and its influences on selective grinding were analyzed.
