ABSTRACT

Based on lots of field survey data from the building observation stations, the corresponding relationship is deeply studied between building damage degree and ground deformation. The main conclusions are drawn as follows: (1) Damage change laws of different kinds of buildings are observed and the individual factor relation formulae are established between fissure width of village single-storey houses, two-storey teaching building and three-storey administration building, and ground positive curvature, horizontal tensile strain respectively. (2) Comprehensive relation formulae are established between building fissure width and length-height ratio, ground deformation; and corresponding relation figures of damage grade evaluation are drawn for different length-height ratio buildings. (3) The double factor comprehensive relation formulae are established between different kinds of building fissure width and ground positive curvature and horizontal tensile strain; The integrated relation formula of building fissure width and building length, width, ground curvature, horizontal strain is summarized.
