ABSTRACT
The high power motor drives have been used in industrial area. In coal mine, the mine hoist is the key equipment in mining activities. The control system with good performance of hoist drive is the important factor of assuring mine production capability and security. In this paper, the development history of power drive control system for mine winders in China is introduced. A novel developed full-digital computer control system for mine hoist fed by DC power drive is simply presented. This system has the features of closed-loop control of speed regulation system, computer travel control, and fault monitoring and handling. The results of practical application are shown that the hoist control systems with cycloconverter-fed synchronous motor drive and with converter-fed DC motor drive have a good control performance and can meet the need of mine production. So it will be widely used in the future.
