ABSTRACT

The finishing cut is used as the passageway for the fast finishing and equipment removing of the fully mechanized face with top-coal caving (FFTC). Ground pressure behavior in the fast advancing and the roof moving law in the terminal mining of FFTC are obtained according to the field measurement. The indices are put forward to judge the stability of the roof during the terminal mining by the convergence of the props of hydraulic support. Based on this, the rational stopping position is determined by the similar experiment, the stability of the finishing cut under the influence of the abutment pressure is studied by numerical simulation, and the proper support pattern is selected. The application to the engineering practice of the new technique can ensure the safe and efficient production and realize the fast finishing of FFTC.
