ABSTRACT
The fundamental principle and experiments about the technology of top-coal caving method with vibration are introduced in the paper. Based on the experiments, the drawing law for top coal is obtained: the arch structure can be easily formed when the top coal size is about 1/3 of the coal caving opening width, which makes the top coal cannot be caved successfully under the gravity condition. It is proven that the technique of the top-coal caving with vibration can easily destroy the arch structure, result in improving the top coal recovery ratio and decreasing the rock content.
