ABSTRACT

Being an important indicator of organic maturity level, vitrinite reflectance has become a wildly used tool in integrated basin analysis and in the exploration or evaluation for oil and gas and in the coal quality forecast. Using the organic vitrinite reflectance, the United States scholar Burnham et al (1989) had brought up and established a new inverse method, called EASY%R o. On detailed research on tectonic-burial history, combined with the fission tracks testing and fluid inclusion analyses, and by using the EASY%R o numerical simulation, this paper reveals the evolution process, the tectonic episodes and the strength of hydrocarbon-generation of Permo-Carboniferous source rocks. The result shows that three times oil-forming processes had taken place since the Permo-Carboniferous formation. On base of EASY%R o numerical simulation, the paper brings forward that the Wuqing Depression is an advantage zone for the exploration of Permo-Carboniferous oil & gas in Huabei, China.
