ABSTRACT
This chapter shows how the State of the Art of the implementation of Information Management Systems in the construction Industry in Spain. It analyses the current Systems and on-line platforms that are being used for the construction industry in Spain to improve Project Management. The Construction Sector and specifically architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry is one of the most challenging for Project Management. Project collaboration services focus on tools and services that make it easier to manage the AEC design projects. The heart of some on line project management systems is a secure document management and workflow system that stores all project documents and forms. ProjectNet is the glue that brings all of the disparate systems from multiple organisations together in one environment, the web. GISA as a reference of the construction sector in Catalonia is leading, together with Accenture, the development of a Collaborative portal based on a unique data repository, accessible via Internet.
