Case 1 is illustrated by slides 1 and 2 ( frames 1-4). A 72-year-old man with type-II diabetes mellitus and hypercholesterolemia was referred for coronary intervention due to severe angina (Canadian Cardiovascular Society stage III), despite maximal anti-anginal therapy.
