ABSTRACT
Although one of the main aims of diabetes management is to educate patients and health professionals to avoid problems, emergency situations do occasionally arise and they require rapid medical action. In this chapter, three types of coma that may occur in uncontrolled diabetes are considered. The problem of steroid treatment in diabetic patients is also discussed.
