ABSTRACT
Diabetes, like several other chronic diseases, is common and has an increasing prevalence. It is no longer possible anywhere in the world, nor is it appropriate, for specialist doctors to take on the complete care of all diabetic patients. Many of the testing and monitoring procedures for diabetes care are within the scope of a multidisciplinary primary health care team (PHCT).
