ABSTRACT
Patients often complain of tiredness, dizziness, nausea and vomiting. Clinical signs may include hypotension and hypoglycaemia. Brown or black pigmentation of the oral mucosa is seen in over 75% of patients with Addison’s disease. Hyperpigmentation is related to high levels of melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH) and particularly affects areas normally pigmented or exposed to trauma.
