ABSTRACT
Ideally, we would design everything — ranging from common items used daily to complex machinery — for anyone, including people with impairments as well as regular adults. Unfortunately, “universal design” of all items for ordinary as well as “extra-ordinary” users is often impractical and expensive or not even thought of. Therefore, even everyday household items such as bleach, toiletries, and medicines can confound users of all ages and walks of life, as H. E. Hancock, Fisk, and Rogers reported in 2001.
