ABSTRACT
Electron attachment is a loss mechanism that depletes electrons from the ionization region. We shall consider the attachment coefficients in addition to the ionization coefficients; the processes by which attachment occurs are not treated exhaustively, in view of the volume of literature available, though enough description will be included for the reader to understand the role of electron attachment in the ionization growth of an avalanche.
