1. CONTINUOUS WAVE ARGON LASER
1.1. Laser Parameters
Although the argon laser emits at six wavelengths from 457.9 to 514.5 nm, 80% of the total
emissions occur at 488 and 514 nm. A filter can be used to limit the wavelength to green
light at 514 nm, or all the blue-green light can be delivered by a fiber optic cable in a con-
tinuous beam. The fiber optic delivery cable comes with spot sizes of 0.1-1.0 mm, with a
fluence range of 0-2.0 W. A scanner is available, but no cooling is built into the system.
Optional cooling with ice pretreatment or using a commercial cooling chamber is available.
