ABSTRACT
Development of relatively inexpensive microprocessors, accelerometers, and electromagnetic wheel-speed sensors that could be incorporated into auto-motive controls permitted more precise measurement of wheel speed and, hence, vehicle speed, acceleration, and deceleration along with rapid detection of and improved response to individual wheel deceleration associated with wheel skid.
