ABSTRACT

As in every therapeutic procedure, endovascular procedures such as angioplasty and stenting carry an inherent risk of complication to the patient. Though with the proper training these complications can usually be successfully managed endovascularly, improper management may lead to emergency surgery, limb loss, functional disability, and death. It is paramount that physician operators have the proper training and ability to anticipate, recognize, and treat complications as they arise during endovascular procedures.
