ABSTRACT
The unit operations that are used in the recovery and purification of the products are described in this chapter. Some of the unit operations described here are used in traditional chemical industries, while others are very specific to biochemical processes. Heat and mass transfer resistances play important role in the design of separation equipments, and the challenge for the design engineers is to maximize the separation efficiencies.
